Virginia HEPC and University of Washington Hepatitis C Online
Virginia HEPC is collaborating with the University of Washington Hepatitis C Online to enhance the learning experience of those in our network. We recommend you complete Hepatitis C Online Modules 1 and 5 prior to the virtual training. These modules provide foundational knowledge for us to build on in training and offer optional CNE/CME credits in addition to those provided for our training.
When you register for training, you are automatically registered for our
monthly Community of Practice (COP) held virtually on the 3rd Wednesday of each
month from 4pm to 5pm. Attend when you can!
Training FAQs
How much does this training cost?
There is no charge for this training. The Virginia Department of Health has provided a grant to cover expenses associated with providing this training to expand across Virginia access for treating hepatitis C.
What kind of device can I connect on for virtual training?
You can connect on iPad, tablet, laptop or desktop computer, or on a smartphone to be able to see the slides presented. You will receive an email with a link that you will use on the day and time of training to take you directly to the training. If your computer does not have speakers or a microphone, you can connect through your computer to see the presentation, and through your phone to hear and speak during the training. After clicking the link you receive for the training, you will be guided through the process that works best for your device(s).
How do I connect to the virtual training?
A link will be emailed to you at least two (2) days before the training. The email will contain all the information you will need to connect. Expect to join the session by 8:00 am on March 14th and plan to attend until 5 pm.
Who should attend this training?
Anyone on the care team involved in helping your patients. This includes nurses, care team (techs, MA, etc.), clinicians (PA, NP, DO, MD, etc.), and pharmacists. The care team is involved from HCV screening to cure, and providing everyone with training on their roles in the process is essential to care.
What if I can’t attend the full day?
To complete the training you do need to attend the full session and we encourage you to participate online for the full day. Attendance at this full-day session will be recorded and available online shortly after the training.
What if I have to cancel after I'm registered?
Please send an email letting us know you are unable to participate at this time. We will put you on the list to contact for our next training session if you would like.
What if I have more questions after the training?
You will have full access to Virginia HEPC staff assistance and resources. The end of the initial training doesn’t mean training ends! You will be guided and supported in your learning at every step of the way.
