Register for Training
Register now! Training starts on June 2nd from 12 - 1 pm.
We are offering online training consisting of 7 (seven) one-hour weekly sessions. Each week, specialists in hepatitis C will come to you via ECHO/Zoom to expand your knowledge of this curable chronic disease.
There will be breakout sessions for providers and support staff. This format ensures the team is getting the specific knowledge and building the skills needed to implement a treatment program in their clinic. Providers and support staff should make every effort to attend all sessions to complete the program.

TRAINING FAQs
Are CEs available for this training?
We are offering Continuing Education (CE) credits! You can earn up to 8 CEs for completing the course. Participants must complete the assigned work accompanying the training to be eligible for the entire 8 CEs. Continuing Education credits will be available for doctors, osteopathic medicine, physician assistants, pharmacists, nurse practitioners, nurses, social workers, and case managers.
What kind of device can I connect on?
You can connect on ipad, tablet, laptop or desktop computer, or on a smartphone to be able to see the slides presented. You will receive an email with a link that you will use on the day and time of training to take you directly to the webinar. If your computer does not have speakers or a microphone, you can connect through your computer to see the presentation, and through your phone to hear and speak during the webinar. After clicking the link you receive for the webinar, you will be guided through the process that works best for your device(s).
How much does this training cost?
There is no charge for this training. The Virginia Department of Health has provided a grant to cover expenses associated with providing this training to expand across Virginia access for treating hepatitis C.
Who should attend this training?
Anyone in your clinic involved with helping your patients. This includes nurses, clinical staff (techs, MA, etc.), providers (PA, NP, DO, MD, etc.), and pharmacists. Staff are involved from HCV screening to cure, and providing them with training on their roles in the process is essential to care.
What if I can’t attend all the sessions?
To complete the training you do need to attend each session. Attendance at each session will be recorded. Only those individuals who complete the training will be prepared to treat HCV.
What if I miss a session?
We understand that dedicating time to be present for 6 weeks can be challenging. The rewards in the group dynamics of the live webinars, however, will be a substantive benefit to your understanding and to growing your network of support as you begin this endeavor. We strongly encourage everyone to attend all sessions, but do plan to offer recorded versions of each session for those who have signed up for training.
What if I have to cancel after I'm registered?
Please send an email letting us know you are unable to participate at this time. We will put you on the list to contact for our next training session if you would like.
What if I have more questions after the training?
You will have full access to Virginia HEPC staff assistance and resources. The end of the initial training doesn’t mean training ends! You will be guided and supported in your learning at every step of the way.
